Food and drink

Although Cuban food is not the best in the world, there are delicious dishes that deserve to be tried. Some classics are old clothes, Moorish rice with pork and seafood. Among the drinks, and with an almost incomparable rum cult, we highlight the daiquiri, the mojito and the Cuba libre, drinks invented in the Caribbean country.

If you want to eat cheap, you have to go to restaurants where you pay in national currency. In Old Havana it is difficult to find them, but if you go out a couple of streets out, you will see that there is a great offer.

To give you an idea of the price difference, tourist restaurants charge 5 to 10 CUC for a main course while local restaurants have dishes for 40 or 50 CUP, that is 2 CUC. Yes, it is also true that the quality is not usually the same. Everything will depend on the place.
